Analysis and elimination of faults in the sound reinforcement system

The fault phenomena, causes, and solutions of the sound reinforcement system are shown below.
(1) The sound amplification system produces no sound during playback
The power plug of one or several connected audio devices is not properly plugged in. Solution: Check the power terminal block to ensure good contact of the socket.
 
(2) The sound reinforcement system sometimes makes a "click" sound, especially during the process of playing music, which constantly occurs.
(1) There is virtual soldering phenomenon in the connecting wires between the equipment of the sound reinforcement system. When there is a music signal, virtual solder joints cause intermittent sound signals. Solution:
(2) Thoroughly inspect the wiring of each channel equipment and re weld all connection points;
(3) If the "clicking" phenomenon still occurs after thoroughly inspecting the connection solder joints, it may be due to broken wires in the connecting wires. Use a multimeter to check each wire and replace the cables with broken wires inside.
 
(3) When the sound amplification system is silent, the communication sound is severe
1. Poor contact or virtual soldering of the shielding wires connecting each channel device. Solution: Carefully check the shielding wires between each device and try to use soldering.
2. Devices with a three pin power plug should be connected to a socket with a two-wire input, and the live wire and neutral wire of this second level should be reversed. Solution: The neutral wire and live wire of the two-wire input socket must be reversed. Generally, the left foot of the socket is the neutral wire, and the right foot is the live wire. The power strip should be equipped with three pins, and the middle and upper pins should be grounded to ensure electrical safety.
3. Some audio equipment uses a two pin plug, but some devices must use a three pin plug, otherwise there may be AC induction when connecting between them, leading to AC sound. Solution: Reverse the power plug of the audio equipment with a two pin plug.
 
(4) When the audio system and lighting system are running simultaneously, the communication noise of the audio system is very loud, and when the lighting system is turned off, the communication sound cannot be heard during the operation of the audio system. The audio system and lighting system share the same single-phase power supply. The working current of the controllable silicon in the lighting system is high, and it is an AC pulse type. It is directly coupled to the input terminal of the expansion device through the power lead, thereby generating a large AC sound. Solution:
(1) The audio system and lighting system are powered independently;
(2) The power supply of the audio system adopts an isolation transformer, and the power of the isolation transformer should be greater than the power consumption of the audio system;
 
(5) During the sound amplification process, one or two sets of speakers at the left and right channel entrances suddenly become silent;
In general, it is caused by overloading of the amplifier or excessive sound power on the speaker that burns out. Solution:
(1) Replace the amplifier or speaker;
(2) When replacing high-power transistors with irregular matching to repair the amplifier, it is necessary to pay attention to the occurrence of this situation, which is caused by overload. When tuning, operational issues should be highly valued. To protect the amplifier or speaker, the sound amplification system can consider adding a limiter;
 
(6) In the karaoke room, the singing voice of the performers is separated from the playing music accompaniment and does not blend in.
1. When the left and right channels of the sound source enter the mixing console, the sound and image adjustment buttons on the corresponding channels are placed randomly, causing confusion in the sound and image. Solution: Correct the adjustment of the sound and image adjustment buttons on the corresponding channels to preserve the sound and image of the original sound source in the output signal of the mixing console;
2. The room equalizer only compensates for music sound, or the room equalizer's room equalization curve adjustment is unreasonable. Solution: readjust the room equalization compensation curve;
 
(7) The effect processing of singing voice has not been added
1. The singing voice did not enter the effect machine. Solution: Open the corresponding auxiliary knob on the singing voice channel, turn on the auxiliary knob sent out by the auxiliary bus, and observe the input signal indicator light of the effect machine to see if there is an input signal.
2. The effect sound sent by the effect machine is not included in the left and right channel bus or grouping bus. Solution: Press the button that is included in the corresponding bus.
3 . The effect machine is damaged. Solution: Replace the effect machine.
 
(8) The effect in the singing voice appears small and not full enough
It is possible that only the single channel effect sound of the effect machine was used, or there was no solution to connect the effect machine with two inputs and two outputs. Generally, effect machines have left and right channel inputs and outputs, so try to connect them in this way as much as possible.
 
(9) The sound source is loud, and the sound amplification system speakers are silent
1. The sound source has no output sound signal, or there is a short circuit or open circuit in the output plug and socket of the sound source device.
Solution: Repair or replace the sound source equipment. Carefully check the wiring and plug sockets of the sound source to eliminate short circuits or open circuits.
2 . The solution to the problem of open or short circuits in the connecting wires between various devices is to carefully check the wiring of each device and the connection status of plugs and sockets, and eliminate virtual soldering, desoldering, and short circuiting.
3 . One or several power switches of the serial connected equipment are not connected, and the sound signal is interrupted. Solution: Connect the power supply of the audio equipment.
4 . Solution to misplacement of the sound source button on the input channel of the mixing console: correctly place the sound source switching button.
 
(10) : Microphone inserted into mixing console for silent signal
Poor contact of microphone switch, microphone switch not turned on, or damaged microphone. Solution: Check the microphone connection cable, turn on the microphone switch, or replace the microphone.
 
(11) Handheld stage wired microphone, slightly swinging motion, the sound amplification speaker emits a "click" sound.
1. Poor contact of microphone switch. Solution: Replace the microphone switch or re weld the switch wiring.
2. If there is a disconnection or shielding wire touching the signal wire at the microphone terminal, the solution is to remove the XLR plug socket, weld the disconnection wire firmly, separate the shielding wire from the signal wire clearly, and weld it firmly.
 
(12) When a single microphone is connected, the volume is high. When two microphones are connected, the volume actually decreases, and the signals input to the mixing console from the two microphones are reversed.
Solution: If each input of the mixing console is equipped with an inversion button, press one of the inversion buttons on the two microphone inputs. If there is no inversion button on each input of the mixing console, solder open one of the microphone signal lines, swap them, and then solder them firmly.
 
(13) After turning on the wireless microphone, there is no sound when speaking into the microphone
1 . Solution for insufficient battery on wireless microphone: Replace with a new battery.
2. Solution for tuner volume not turned on: Turn on the tuner volume switch and exceed 3/5.
3 . The receiving antenna angle of the tuner is not adjusted properly. Solution: Change the receiving angle of the tuner antenna to avoid blind spots in the host's activity area.
 
(14) There is output from the left and right channels of the audio source, but there is no sound signal output after entering the mixing console.
1. The fixed attenuation button for the corresponding input channel on the mixing console has been pressed. Solution: Pop up the fixed attenuation button for the corresponding channel on the mixing console.
2. Place the gain adjustment on the corresponding channel at a lower position. Solution: Turn on the gain adjustment on the corresponding channel and place it at the 2/3 position.
3. The placement of the sound and image adjustment buttons on the corresponding channel should be opposite to the input left and right channel signals. Solution: The placement of the sound and image adjustment buttons on the corresponding channel should be consistent with the input left and right channel signals.
4. If the plug of the input mixing console has poor contact or disconnection, the solution is to check the input plug and weld it firmly.
5. Poor contact or desoldering at the output end of the mixing console. Solution: Check the output plug of the mixing console, connect it correctly, and weld it firmly.
6. The input signal is not programmed into the corresponding output bus. Solution: Press the programming button for the corresponding output.
 
(15) The left and right speakers produce unbalanced sound
1. The sensitivity of the left and right channel speakers is different. Solution: Adjust the output levels of each channel of the left and right channels to make the speakers produce similar sound.
2. The output power signals of the left and right channels are unbalanced. Solution: Adjust the input level of each channel device to approximately the same indication.
 
(16) One of the high pitched speakers (high-frequency head) of the left and right channel speakers has no high pitched sound, and the high pitched speaker of this speaker is overloaded and burned out.
Solution: Swap the two input signals of the power amplifier. If the high pitched speaker of the speaker still has no high pitched sound, it means that the high pitched speaker is burnt out and the voice coil should be replaced
 
(17) The left and right channel speakers are split type, and the sound output of each speaker is uneven. The division point of the two channel electronic frequency divider is not adjusted properly.
Solution: Carefully adjust the crossover points of the high and low ends according to the use of the frequency divider
